“My goal is to be a doctor so that I can heal the sick. Doctors are so needed in our country because so many are suffering." Lorite Rosenie, 8th grade
Because there are so few public schools in Haiti, most children are unable to receive a free education. The What If? Foundation provides scholarships to pay for the tuition, uniforms, and books needed for school. Students are selected based on need, desire, and character.
A donation of $250 sends one elementary or high school student to school for one year.
This year, we are providing 125 girls and boys with full scholarships to attend private elementary and high schools.
“We thank all the people who are helping us through the What If? Foundation. If it was not for them, we wouldn’t be able to go to school. We say thank you one thousand times. We are so happy to be able to go to school!” - Wadner Leopold, 10th grade
Believing that education is critical for creating change in Haiti, our goal is to give each child we sponsor the opportunity to attend college or a technical school.
We are currently providing college and technical school scholarships to 18 students in Port-au-Prince. Soon, many more of our students will be graduating from high school, so this is an area where we really want to increase funding.
”…if you don't know how to read or write, how can you become a president, or a lawyer? We are going to school so that we can help our country, the people, and because in life everything is connected.” Auguste Saran, age 16
