What If? Foundation - Providing hope and opportunity to impoverished children in Haiti
About Us

The What If? Foundation is a donor-supported 501 (c)(3) non-profit charitable organization.

The mission
of the What If? Foundation is to feed and educate impoverished children in Haiti, providing hope, opportunity and a brighter future.

Founded in 2000 by Margaret Trost, the What If? Foundation partners with the St. Clare’s Church community in Port-au-Prince to feed and educate hundreds of Haitian children.

“Thanks to these programs, hope is kept alive in the midst of troubled days.”
Fr. Jean-Juste, St. Clare’s

Our success is only made possible through the collaborative efforts of the members of St. Clare’s Church in Port-au-Prince, who prepare and serve the food program meals every week, and the generous donors in the United States, Canada, and abroad, who provide financial resources for meals and school scholarships.

This special partnership of local dedication and international support helps make the programs at St. Clare's a reality, and using this simple formula, we’re making a tangible difference in the lives of some of the world’s hungriest children.

The What If? Foundation office is located in Berkeley, California (U.S.A.).

Through a largely volunteer effort in administration of the Foundation, we continue to channel 96% of your donations directly to the programs in Haiti, so donations of every size have a powerful impact.
